we’re on cortes island, an island off of northern vancouver island. there’s a mushroom course being taught here at hollyhock with the famous mycologist paul stamets…..we’re in it. of course this has slowed the posting of more bowron lake photos! i’m getting ready to settle down again soon tho!
i normally don’t post iphone photos, but the forests here look as if a mushroom explosion took place!!!! incredible! We have been learning latin names, edibility and even how to make mushroom fiber. we are learning LOTS about mushrooms. we found a hundred different kinds yesterday!! we learned that a lobster mushroom is just a mushroom that was taken over by a bacteria and turns it red. and makes it smell like a lobster. very cool stuff!!!
